Description
Pompeian fresco depicting Apollo on a column
measure cm ,. 21x21
Group of plates dedicated to the frescoes found in Murecine, at 600 meters. from the walls of Pompeii in 1999. During the excavation of the building it emerged that it was a "Statio Marittima" that belonged to the Sulpicii family, wealthy bankers and merchants who invested huge sums for the construction of this luxurious hotel overlooking the gulf also equipped with a SPA. The paintings represent a splendid "virgin" pictorial cycle, that is, without restoration interventions made at a later date. The cycle of the "Muses" is spectacular, with Apollo citaredo in the central wall, in the act of showing the symbols that characterize them: the planet Uranus for Urania (she was the muse of astronomy), the theatrical mask for Talia (he presided over the comedy on Greek mythology) and so on. We offer them discounted because we recommend collecting the entire pictorial cycle, perhaps starting this Christmas
YOU WILL BETTER APPRECIATE EVERY DETAIL BY MOVING THE CURSOR ON THE IMAGE AND CLICKING ON THE SYMBOL +
